Thousands of years ago warring nations sent their champions to battle each other and the outcomes of single battles often settled wars. The notion of a national champion has fascinated readers for years. The Tournament asks what our national champions might look like today.

Blue Fall is set in modern times, where war has cost millions of lives, and nations are growing weary of it. A secret group of powerful individuals creates The Tournament, a competition where the best and brightest of one country can battle those of another country using a technology called the “diode” that allows for players to be brought back after “dying.” At first, The Tournament is created purely for the sport of the rich and powerful, but it is changing, morphing into something dark and deadly. When a hapless insurance agent stumbles across this secret, he must tell the world before it’s too late.

But where does the true power lie in this World Cup of warfare? With those who placing the bets, or with the deadly players themselves? And can one man tell the world what he knows before he’s snuffed out?
